The Commercial Appeal is the "newspaper of record" for Memphis. This site provides many selected articles from the current day's paper plus a variety of other features.

The Memphis Flyer is Memphis' "alternative" weekly newspaper, but the writing can be very good. They often tackle "sacred cows" that the Commercial Appeal leaves alone. They are also known for their coverage of local cultural events.
